New Robotics Division manager named for YASKAWA Europe GmbH
05. November 2014
Manfred Stern, President and COO of the YASKAWA Europe Group, previously held this position temporarily as a second function. Mr Schnekenburger has also been appointed as an additional Managing Director of YASKAWA Europe GmbH.
"I am pleased to welcome Mr Schnekenburger, an extremely successful manager and well-known in the automation business, to YASKAWA", says Manfred Stern. "He will use his extensive experience to strengthen YASKAWA's European team and push hard for further growth of the Robotics Division in Europe."
Growth in European robotics market
The addition of Bruno Schnekenburger as Managing Director provides reinforcement of resources at YASKAWA to encourage continued growth in the European robotics market. YASKAWA has been a leader in welding robots and welding equipment for years and offers one of the largest product portfolios, with over 100 robot models, thus providing the right robot as a complete solution with drive and control technology for almost any industry and application—from handling to painting, to packaging. Just within the last few months the company introduced the new DX200 robot controller with an integrated safety controller as well as a number of new, innovative robots.
"My goal is to create a streamlined, fast and effective organisation and to offer premium customer service to our customers. System integrators, equipment manufacturers and direct customers will all benefit," says Bruno Schnekenburger. "We want to transform YASKAWA Robotics in Europe from being a 'hidden champion' to what it is already worldwide: number 1. In addition to the traditional welding market, we now serve other market segments, which we are steadily expanding. For this purpose, biomedicine is just as important as other growth markets."
